About Birchgrove Property

Birchgrove Property is a developer of residential estates in regional Victoria. It has a significant history commencing in 1973 as a land development business originally established, and still based, in Bendigo. Developments completed by Birchgrove Property have been the catalyst for the significant residential settlements we see in the Bendigo suburbs of Strathdale and Strathfieldsaye today.

Whilst Birchgrove Property has a demonstrated history in community building developments, our forward vision is a continuing commitment to providing better planned and more sustainable residential living environments. This includes not only the subdivision of the land but influencing the built form outcomes also. We believe that the development of land and construction of built form need to be better integrated to provide for a more complete result leading to improved community outcomes.

Birchgrove Property has a range of great partnerships with community and sporting groups such as the Marong Football and Netball Club, Marong Cricket Club, Strathfieldsaye Storm Football Club, Jets Cricket Club. We provide support to a range of other organisations both financially and in kind to assist with positive community outcomes.

Managing Director Damien Tangey believes strongly in personal contribution to a range of organisations which includes roles as the Board Chair of Haven; Home, Safe a key registered affordable housing association in Victoria, a Director of the Victorian Planning Authority and a Director of the Bendigo Business Council – Be.Bendigo.

Other community commitments include roles as a Committee Member of the Loddon Mallee Regional Development Australia Committee and as President of the Bendigo Senior Secondary College Council.

Damien has previously served in a range of elected roles with the Board of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (Vic) including as President and also as Vice President of the UDIA National Council.
