Like a candle in the dark, she’s willing to sacrifice herself just to give light to others. Aside from being the ultimate ‘meat in the sandwich’, Abbey oversees everything in the Property Management Department--just how exactly you would imagine a mother cares for her kids and how fun yet professional a leader leads. 

With a completely different direction to take after earning her degree in Hospitality Management, Abbey’s real estate dreams began to officially flourish when she met Patrick years ago. Patrick’s daily conversations with his family about real estate opened the eyes of Abbey visualising herself in a new venture. Who would have known that after ten and a half years, that same Abbey who was at first clueless in the field, is now completely slaying the real estate world (while empowering others who chose to take the same path as she did)? Since her role has dramatically changed over time, instead of focusing on portfolios, she’s now a hands-on Director who trains and helps fellow property managers to reach their goals.

Above her responsibilities, she finds joy and fulfilment in seeing the department grow with more people and more properties. Currently, this is Abbey’s priority as she puts her favourite business quote from Sir Richard Branson at heart every day, “Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don’t want to."

May it be inside or outside work, with her people-person character, establishing relationships with other people is just as easy as one, two, three. While she’s friendly and happy most of the time, she also naturally bears with herself her perfectionist side--especially when working. 

But, when she’s not facing her computer or training her coworkers, you would most probably see Abbey enjoying her time with her near and dear family. Her son, Parker, is into BMX riding which paved the way for her and Patrick to equally have an interest and later love mountain biking with him. Their younger daughter, Quinn, is also starting her peddling journey along with the family. Before the pandemic struck, travelling was also one of the most exciting things for the Berrys. They’re fond of travelling internationally, not until Covid happened. This, however, didn’t stop them from making the most out of their spare time. They bought a caravan which made going to various places possible along with their friends.

Just like what her dad used to tell her, Abbey believes that “you attract more flies with honey than with vinegar”. The same applies to life if you’re radiating kindness and positivity, you’ll be more rewarded. Thus, Abbey chooses to see the goodness in people especially when dealing with owners and buyers. She’s always reminded of her dad’s words: “Manners are gifts to other people.”
