The journey that brought seasoned traveller Danica Britten to LJ Hooker Iluka more than two years ago is steeped in hospitality.

The former Victorian worked on cruise ships, managed cafes and owned a pub in a town of 30 people in central west Queensland before being plucked from obscurity, okay, the Woombah Coffee Van — during a drinks run.

This proved to be good (mind the pun) grounding for a property manager whose job is as much about looking after people as it is looking after properties.

Danica not only handles all the ingoings and outgoings for landlords and tenants, she is also working towards her Class 1 Licence.

With her background in management and her community connections, the sharp-as-a-tack Danica is also earmarked as the deputy most likely to hold the fort should Christina manage to lock down a holiday.

“I used to get itchy feet in hospitality and want to move on but this is the first time I’ve really loved my job and what I’m doing. Chrissie and the team here are great to work with, so I’m here to say.”
