Ian spent the most of the 1980’s in management for an international construction company based out of Dubai looking after the UAE, Oman, Bahrain and South Yemen operations and returned to live in Australia calling the Gold Coast home full time in 1989.
It was on the Gold Coast in 1990, where he and a couple of friends started the first Bungee Jump to set up anywhere in the world outside New Zealand, this operated on the Spit for 10 years until they were unable to secure a permanent location at the end of that period. During this time Ian also took the operation overseas, setting up for 10 years as a seasonal operation in Cyprus in 1992. This was followed by stints in Dubai, as well as in Egypt, Bahrain, Portugal, Malaysia and China in the following years.
In the early 2000’s Ian cofounded Urban Edge Design here on the Gold Coast, which was an upmarket homewares and design Broadbeach based business specialising in high end furnishings for many of the new apartments, resorts and other dwellings being built during this period on the Gold Coast and South East Queensland. A lot of their dealings were with the top end real estate companies and Ian enjoyed meeting and arranging business for many of these companies and their clients. In 2014 Ian left the company and as a natural progression moved into the real estate industry where he still operates today.
Ian says .. “I particularly enjoy meeting and assisting the many diverse buyers and sellers to sell in some cases their biggest investment or to buy their dream homes.”
