Mark made the change into Real Estate after moving home from London after 8 years as a Management Consultant with IBM and PricewaterhouseCoopers. “I had bought, sold and renovated quite a few houses over the last 10 years while living in the UK and here in Brisbane, and I had developed a real passion for property and design. When I got home from the UK, I wanted a complete change from my old career, and to do something I was absolutely passionate about. I was extremely fortunate to be asked to join Havig & Jackson shortly after getting back home in 2006 and I haven’t looked back.”
Transferring his extensive professional expertise to a new arena has been immensely satisfying for Mark, due to his excellent client-facing skills and years of high-level negotiation on large project bids. “I love negotiating. I genuinely get a buzz out of achieving the best possible result for my Vendors, whilst ensuring that the Buyers feel like they are getting the outcome they desire. So many agents forget that all sales transactions are two way streets, and the needs of both are vital to ensuring a successful outcome.”
Adhering to the highest levels of integrity, honesty and compassion, Mark has a highly ethical approach to his property dealings. “Because I have been through this process myself so many times, where I have been the Vendor or the Buyer and I have been burnt at times, I always try to treat my clients in the same manner I would expect to be treated. We are often dealing with the single largest transaction some people will ever make, and it’s important we never lose sight of that and treat each relationship with the respect and integrity it deserves.”
Mark’s passion, professionalism and creativity have seen him develop a notable profile in Brisbane’s Inner North in a short period of time, achieving some outstanding recent results. “I am passionate about Brisbane. I know the suburbs I sell in like the back of my hand and I believe in them and everything they have to offer. I want to constantly strive to achieve better results. I love a challenge.”
