Before I entered the world of Real Estate, I was a young retail sales assistant at Brashs selling audio and visual equipment. The excellent sales training and customer service I received there has guided me to where I am today.

It was a lot of fun and a very competitive environment between the staff. I enjoyed explaining and demonstrating the benefits of the equipment to customers and helping them get the most out of their purchase by including accessories when needed.

The Day That Set My New Course

One day I sold a Video Camera (and just about every accessory we had to offer) to a lovely middle-aged couple. It just so happened this couple was in Real Estate, and they said I’d be really good at it. 

I started thinking about what they’d said and after visiting them at their agency, I decided I’d do my real estate sales registration course at REIWA in 1991 and jump in head first.

I made sales straight away, canvassed my area thoroughly and started getting listings. Things were great and in 1992 I wanted to subdivide a block I’d purchased in Scarborough. Unfortunately the banks wouldn’t lend me the money because my job in Real Estate was commission only. So, to do my first deal, I had to get my old job back at Brashs.

My First Property Development

Once forging ahead, my first development finished in 1994. This was a major milestone for me personally and once finished, I moved into the back and rented out the front. Having a tenant wasn’t something I was ready for at the age of 23. So, I decided to sell the front unit and use the money to start my own Electronics shop in Mandurah.

My business became a quick success. And in the background I used the money I was making and combined it with my ever-growing real estate knowledge to buy and sell land, houses, commercial properties, and I developed shops and units.

Every transaction in those years taught me new lessons about how to make deals happen. How to make every situation a win-win for the buyer and seller and how to improve a property for minimal cost but massively increase the value.

Buying, selling and developing real estate became a real passion of mine. I always longed to get back into helping others buy and sell their properties so it was only natural that I would start my own Real Estate agency.
