About Nicole Hobbs - Real Estate Agent
Nicole Hobbs was welcomed into the YSH Property team in early 2024 as the Head of Department, Property Management, a role in which she focuses on systems, training and team development. Nic is also a Trust Account specialist and a practised and accomplished solution finder.
Hard working, highly motivated and with boundless energy, Nic loves being a part of the YSH team and admires the workplace culture Dean and Elise have created, especially around health and wellbeing, and their commitment to service excellence.
Originally from Sydney’s inner west, Nic spent many childhood holidays on family farms and was taught the importance of a strong work ethic, being well-mannered and always finishing what you start. Early ambitions to be a jet-fighter pilot in the RAAF weren’t realised when she didn’t meet the minimum height requirement and instead she became a receptionist for Century 21 on Sydney’s North Shore. There she loved the fast-paced and ever-changing work environment, and the focus on helping people. At the same time she discovered her intense dislike of poor customer service and vowed to always provide the level of service she would want to receive.
Undertaking a Certificate IV in Financial Services – Mortgage Broking, Nic went on to work as a mortgage broker and lending underwriter for over a decade, and in various other management, administrative and training roles as well as property management.
Nic’s professional successes stem from her conscientious attitude, resilience and flexibility. She sees empathy as crucial to effective teamwork and building positive relationships, and she strives to create a supportive and collaborative work environment with effective, cohesive and high-performing teams. A keen learner, Nic also enjoys taking on new challenges, especially when they involve stepping out of her comfort zone.
Away from work, Nic enjoys reading fiction, relaxing at the beach and spending time with her husband, three kids, and pets Thor (the dog) and Alice and Ada (the rats, the latter of which she hand raised after rescuing from the local tip). A notable life highlight for Nic was travelling to Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm in Cambodia, and experiencing the sheer wonder of ancient engineering, construction and religion.
