Located at the foothills of the Connors Range south of Mackay, Sarina is a relatively unspoilt area. It has retained much of its natural charm, while having developed into a thriving business area. After two years in the Sarina area, Richard and Rebecca Murphy are taking over the reins from the well regarded Kent and Leslie Street who have run the business for more than 17 years. 

Ray White is a fourth generation family owned and led business which was established in regional Queensland, in Crows Nest in 1902. Today the group spans the length and breadth of Australia and is the largest real estate group and last year turned over more than $85 billion in sales.

Mr Murphy was excited to join Ray White and has a wealth of experience in all facets of the industry from working in agriculture for the last 15 years. The last two years of which he has operated as an independent livestock and real estate agent in the local region. His wife Rebecca will manage the day to day operations of the business and he expects to expand his sales force and property management team in time.

Mr Murphy, a former cattle buyer in northern New South Wales, who has experience in livestock as well as rural property sales, enjoys the variety of rural and residential properties coming to market within the Sarina region.

“I am so passionate about the industry and I would never want to do anything else, which is why I have been involved in real estate and livestock for so long,” Mr Murphy said.

“Sarina is coming into its own. We love it here, it’s a great place to raise our three daughters and the market has been great, especially with the growth in major local commodities sugar, cattle and mining, with prices as high as they have ever been.

“I am very passionate about customer service and integrity. My clients will see I am the same operator, now backed by the biggest real estate agency in the country, Ray White.

“This is a seamless and positive changeover and I am excited about the future and what we can achieve here for our clients.”
