23 Pier Haven, Lamb Island, Qld 4184 - More Details

$135,000

Positioned on the corner of Pier Haven and Brook Haven, this 592m² square-shaped block offers a peaceful setting with plenty of potential, while still being conveniently central to the ferry and island amenities.

Currently quite treed, the block doesn't immediately reveal the outlook it could offer once selectively cleared for your future home. Adjoining a large rural-zoned property, clearing the trees required for building will open up an expansive outlook across neighbouring grassed paddocks, giving the property a greater sense of space and openness than you might expect from a typical island block.

Depending on your house design and the trees you choose to retain, a high-set home may also capture glimpses across Moreton Bay towards Macleay Island and Lucas Passage in the distance.

Nature lovers and birdwatchers will appreciate the location. Brook Haven is a short no-through road adjoining the Brook Haven Bushland Reserve, while Pier Haven is close to the Lamb Island Dam – both lovely local areas for enjoying the island's abundant birdlife.

While a number of trees will need to be removed prior to building, this also gives you the opportunity to selectively retain some for natural shade, habitat and character around your new island home.

Features include:

- 592m² square-shaped corner block

- Two-road frontage to Pier Haven and Brook Haven

- Sealed road frontage with roadside drainage

- Power and town water accessible at the boundary

- NBN internet available

- Adjoins a large rural-zoned property with an open paddock outlook

- Potential water glimpses from a high-set home once selectively cleared

- Close to Lamb Island Dam and Brook Haven Bushland Reserve

- Approximately 800m walk to the Lamb Island ferry terminal and Zak's shop via the Lavender Street dam

If you're looking at the block in its current treed state, it is worth considering what will be revealed once the building area is cleared – particularly the open rural outlook beyond.

ABOUT LAMB ISLAND

Lamb Island (Ngudooroo) is the second smallest of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands with excellent fishing, kayaking, sailing and deep water moorings on our doorstep.

We have about 500 residents and a small community feel compared to the larger suburban islands Russell and Macleay. Most people come here for the peace and quiet. The 1km x 2 km island is small enough that it's not necessary to have a vehicle, and many residents walk, have bikes, scooters or use the community-run Lamb Van public transport. Get your local honey, freshly roasted coffee, organic gardening supplies, local artwork and handmade soap from some of the local small businesses on Lamb.

There are many groups and activities to keep you occupied, from Yoga and Pilates classes, Qi Gong, pickleball and tennis, community bushcare days, to trivia nights and pool competitions at the Rec Club.

We have town water (which comes from the aquifer below the great sand island North Stradbroke), electricity, NBN internet, public tennis court (with flood lighting for night tournaments!), playground, BBQ and netted swimming area, off-leash dog park, community garden, free rubbish dump, Rural Fire Brigade, Lamb Island Recreational Club/Bar and a small shop. Eat-in or takeaway meals can be had at the Recreation Club or Zac’s shop.

Woolworths deliver here every day of the week for a delivery fee. There are essentials such as schools, post office, pharmacies, medical centres, hardware stores and cafes on the neighbouring islands Macleay and Russell which are a free 5 minute inter-island ferry away.

We are just a 50c fare and 21 minute Translink passenger ferry ride to Redland Bay, Brisbane where there is limited free car parking and the Weinam Creek Development is in the pipeline. The vehicle barge now has a 50% subsidy for residents and is only approx $35 each way leaving from Redland Bay, Brisbane. The Island jetties have recently undergone a multi-million dollar major revamp with the addition of a recreational jetty for fishing and temporary mooring of tenders.

The islands are moving ahead and undergoing a building boom which is to be expected for a region only 50 mins to Brisbane City and 50 mins to the Gold Coast.

The secret's out and more people are discovering our beautiful islands and the unique lifestyle they offer.
