For a licensed real estate agent and auctioneer, Sam’s career path has been unusual and, at times, very challenging. A former Sergeant of Police in the NSW Police Force, where she served for more than two decades, Sam has a remarkable story of resilience and survival, captured in the inspirational book Left for Dead – A true story of Resilience and Courage, which she co-authored with her husband and was published by Penguin in 2013.
Her commitment to helping and inspiring others goes beyond her day job. Her incredible story has led to many opportunities to inspire and motivate through professional corporate speaking engagements at conferences and other events. She’s been recognised for many awards for service to the community, including the Australasian Council of Women in Policing Bravery Award, the Pride of Australia Medal for Heroism and the Fitness First New You Award, while she has also been recognised by Rotary as a Paul Harris Fellow for her community service.
If you’re a Port Macquarie local, you’ve probably seen Sam out and about in the community. She regularly competes in the Port Macquarie Ironman and is deeply involved with the Port Macquarie Surf Life Saving Club as a current Assessor, Trainer, Nippers Age Manager and competitor.
