A qualified hairdresser, Sonya began her career in one of regional Queensland’s leading salons. Working so closely with customers from all backgrounds and walks of life, she quickly learnt the power of conversation and how it can help build trust and connection. It also taught her the importance of listening to her customer and confirming her understanding what they’re after.
After over a decade of doing cuts and colours, Sonya felt it was time for a change and decided to indulge her passion for travel by becoming a flight attendant. As a member of the Ansett cabin crew, she saw first-hand the big difference an empathetic approach could make – particularly in stressful situations. While she originally planned to leave the airline industry after Ansett, her love of flying and commitment to delivering a highquality onboard experience, saw her return to the skies (as Cabin Manager for Jetstar) after just a few years away.
Having long-held an interest in real estate, Sonya saw the end of Ansett as an opportunity to try her hand at something new. Bringing with her an innate understanding of what makes people tick and a wealth of critical skills, she quickly found her feet and has been recognised for her work with several leading agencies.
As a Queensland native, Sonya understands everything that makes life in the Sunshine State so great. Since relocating to Brisbane in 2004, she’s made it her mission to get to know the city and appreciate the distinct personality of different neighbourhoods. This local knowledge, combined with her unfailing attention to detail and unflappable nature, make Sonya the perfect addition to the Harcourts Pinnacle Team.
