About Tanya Jarrel - Real Estate Agent
Came to Australia in 1991 from the former Soviet Union where she was born. She graduated from the Belarussian State University and completed her Ph.D. in information technology and computer science at the Soviet Union Academy of Science in Moscow. At the age of 26 she already held the position of Chief of Department of Information Technology in Belarussian State University.
After arriving in Australia, Tanya soon joined the real estate industry, commencing her career in March 1994 as a sub agent for a couple of Melbourne’s most prominent real estate companies. In both her places of employment she would quickly become a high achiever and top performer. Furthermore, Past President of REIV Frank Hellier named her “the most successful female that ever hit the industry”.
A person of strong ambition and drive, she continuously strove to move forward in the industry and in the year 2000 she completed her full real estate license. In September 2002, Tanya bought the well-established property management company ‘Brownbill and Jolly’ which has been providing Melbourne with outstanding property management to both residential and commercial landlords for over 75 years. Utilising her outstanding professional skills and personal qualities, Tanya raised the company to a new level: expanding it with an extremely successful and effective sales department for residential and commercial real estate.
In 2006 the company changed its name to Jarrel Estate Agents and Tanya remains to this day the Managing Director and Officer in Effective Control of one of the most successful boutique real estate companies in Melbourne.

My journey hasn’t been an easy one, being a wife and mother of two, and balancing my career and family life, my success hasn’t been short of sacrifices. Now, almost three decades later my business has become a family affair with my husband Alex running the Property Management Department and my son Gary, who is head of the Commercial Division and IT Department.
There is an old expression ‘The best job is a well-paid hobby’. I have the best job in the world. I love it and I live it, and I am driven by the sweet smell of success. It’s addictive.
