In 1838, he purchased land where he built the current substantial stone house as a school, and later as a post office until 1973, when it was reverted back to a private residence. The property remains one of the oldest houses in the quaint historic township of Pontville.

The residence is entered via the charming green front door with distinctive fanlights. The entrance hall leads to a large library, dining room, formal living room, the master bedroom, and bathroom. All the rooms have wonderful original Georgian features.
